The Palestinian Struggle

I saw the documentary and it made some very compelling points. I truly wish that the American media would show this side of the story as well. I will admit, that the mainstream media tends to give more attention to the Israeli victims. Publicly funded television stations have given the Palestinian cause more attention but not to the extent that the U.K. has.

Israelis have gone to extremes in defending itself and yes, plenty of innocents are getting killed. But the exact same thing can be said about the Palestinians. Face it Hamas, history will find both sides equally guilty in all of this. Just as Israel has killed journalists, the Palestinians have done the same - how do you explain the brutal murder of Daniel Pearl? He was killed while trying to shed more light on the Palestinian cause!

I agree that Israel should leave the West Bank immediately. I also believe that isolating the Gaza strip will only produce more frustration and violence. But history has already shown that Arafat cannot control the radical elements in his country. They have sworn to continue fighting until Israel has been completely eliminated.

Hamas, I'm sure you know that there are factions within Arafats government that will not rest until the Israeli's are all dead. Aren't they the same ones planning all of the terrorist attacks, despite all of the cease-fire agreements? What's your opinion on this?

What do you think it takes to put an end to all of this?

So how are the Palestinians any different? You need to accept the fact that there is an undeclared war being fought, and both sides are willing to go to extremes to defend themselves. The Palestinians are getting financial and military support for their Arab neighbors just as Israel is getting it from it's own allies. Wars are never fought between equals Hamas, which is why they shouldn't be fought in the first place.

Until both sides take responsibility for the casualties, the war will never end.

washington (cnn) -- the department of homeland security is warning that islamic extremists might be plotting suicide airliner hijackings to be carried out before the end of the summer, with possible targets including sites in britain, italy, australia or the eastern united states.

"as of mid-june, islamic extremists may have been planning suicide hijackings to be executed by the end of summer 2003," according to the document obtained tuesday by cnn.

"the plan may involve the use of five-man teams, each of which would attempt to seize control of a commercial aircraft either shortly after takeoff or shortly before landing at a chosen airport.

I appreciate the effort you put into your response and don't get me wrong when I talk to you about this subject. No matter what anyone says or thinks on this forum, I have the highest respect for everyone including you.

Now getting to our subject, I have to say that the left picture of Osama is not the same as the image of Osama that was seen on the video. I've been in the multimedia and web development biz for over 10 years and I can spot the image -and I can spot the image-smoothing and despeckling a mile away. It's pretty obvious that the image on the right was produced by an amateur with Adobe Photoshop on his PC.

If both of these images are supposed to be from a video, why is it that you can barely see Osama's ear on the left image? You can barely see the detail on his camoflage jacket. On the right hand image, you can easily see this detail - it hasn't been edited. I'm sure you got this from an amateur consipracy web site or even from a pro Bin Laden site.

Where have you read/heard that Osama denied responsibility for the attacks - can you provide some documentation for this?

T he two gentlemen that you mentioned from Germany, Dr. Abdel El M. Husseini and Professor Gernot Rotter - what makes them an authority on the matter of translation? Do they have the kind of audio/visual equipment/linguistic skillset employed by the CIA or the FBI to determine what was said? What is the opinion of the international news media on this matter? As far as I can tell, the majority of the informed and educated world is certain that Al Qaeda was behind all of this.

If the Al Qaeda organization didn't mastermind the hijackings than who did? Who is responsible for all the other terrorist attacks (the U.S.S. Cole, the U.S. embassy?) Where did we get the 19 hijackers from? What about Zacarias Moussaoui ('the 20th hijacker) and Richard Reid (the 'shoe bomber')? They both admitted to being supportive of Al Qaeda and admitted to training in Afghanistan (do you want the transcripts?). Are you saying that they're innocent too? What about the footage of the training camps? Are you saying that this is fake also?

Your explanation of the Payne Stewart incident is irrelevant because this happened 2 years before 9/11. Even then, you didn't explain what airbase the fighter jet took off from in order to intercept the private jet as fast as it did. If the airbase was anywhere near Texas or Florida, there is no way that it could have intercepted a 747 in the Northeast unless it had enough lead time. This fact has already been well documented by the FAA.

Again Hamas, I respect your opinion, but I think that the evidence you provided is pretty weak. Something tells me that you support the cause of Al Qaeda, but for whatever reason you're afraid to admit it.

Is the Watchtower's idea of preaching what Jesus had in mind?

The faith of the first century Christians was not based on their interpretations of the old testament. It was based on the knowledge that eternal life can be obtained through faith in Jesus -and that's all there was to it. Jesus did not want his followers to worry about when where and how things were to occur. Even when he did provide simple explanations, such truths could not be understood even by those closest to him.

Could the early congregations have survived if the so called governing body had confused them with a flood of theories and misleading predictions? Not at all. That's why their command was simple, to preach the gospel of the resurrection through faith in Jesus. It was a simple teaching, but it was one that could be easily understood unlike the pagan teaching of the time.

Having faith in Jesus and having faith in the interpretations of an organization are two very different things. Having faith in Jesus means that you have believe in the future fulfillment of his promises. Having faith in the interpretations of an organization means that you rely on the imperfect understanding of man.

Have you seen the sizes on some of these NYC cops? No wonder they need so many of them, if I was a criminal, the last thing I have to worry about is a cop chasing me down the street on foot. I'm more worried about the thousands driving the squad cars. Once they get on the radio, it's all over.

If the American airline industry hired sky marshalls to protect their flights the way Isreal does 9/11 would never have happened. Even now, there is now mention of hiring them so chances are, 9/11 could be repeated, perhaps on an international flight.

As for your comment about Al Qaeda being innocent, how do you arrive at that statement? If Bin Laden took responsibility for the 9/11/ attacks, how can you say they are innocent? With all due respect, I am very intrigued by your way of thinking on this matter.

When you don't have to spend so many days out of the week serving the borg, you have more time for hobbies and REAL personal development (working out, learning a new skill). Along the way, you can make alot of friends as I have. Provided the borg hasn't drained you of all your social ability, you should be fine.

Does The WTS Have The Right To Interpret The Bible For Mankind?

if in fact, there was a governing body for christians back in the 1st century, why didn't they go about interpreting daniel's prophecies the way the current gb does today?

Consider this, when God helped Joseph interpret the dreams of the pharoah, Joseph didn't say, "it seems like my first interpretation was incorrect, God's new light has shown me the following...".

When Daniel interpreted the writing on the wall for Belshazzar, he didn't say "it seems that the meaning of the writing is different, thanks to God's new light..."

If the prophets got it right the first time back then, why can't the current 'prophets' do the same?

or maybe their pots and pans started flying around the house because they bought something from a garage sale.. there are also the types who won't eat skittles because they contain an ingredient made from dried and crushed beetles... which means that they were not properly bled.. and the types who won't let their kids watch cartoons because the animals talk... like satan did with the snake.. then there are they types who are always into the latest get-rich-quick scam... or amway and trying to get everyone in the congregation to buy something.. oh, and don't get me started about the demon possessed smurfs who run around kingdom halls swearing and accosting the women with their teeny-peenies.. what's up with this!?!?

Your comment about the Smurfs cracked me up! I've known many JWs who refused to buy Surfs for their kids because of rumors about the dolls 'coming to life'. Not to mention they had an issue with the name Gargamel. Supposedly, it's the name of a Babylonian god or something. I also remember how many said that TVs have been possessed while watching the Smurfs on Saturday mornings. Good way to scare your kids out into field service!
